What’s new in Barrie

Fireworks

FireworksAfter last week’s stormy weather, it was nice to have some sunshine this weekend.

Here is what’s coming up in Barrie over the next week:

The Barrie Thunder Classics will have a “Cruise Night” on June 26. Come out to Heritage Park from 6pm to 9pm to see the classic cars on display and support Gilda’s Club.

Join the City on June 28 from noon till 4 for a celebration of the reopening of Lampman Lane Park. There will be basketball, face painting, fire trucks, a water park, and other family-oriented events and games. Click here for more details.

On June 28, you can also join the Colour Blast 5K run. This non-timed race will turn your body into an art canvas by the time you cross the finish line. Go here for more information or to register.

Finally, next weekend is the start of Promenade Days in downtown Barrie. Dunlop St. will be closed to vehicles between Mulcaster and Maple to allow for street vendors and entertainment in Barrie’s downtown. The Canada Day celebrations will finish off on July 1 with a fireworks display.
