I just returned yesterday from ABA Techshow, which is a big conference every year in Chicago on legal technology and practice management. In light of the tech focus of that week, I thought I would post something tech-related today: New Hampshire has proposed a bill that will assist executors and next of kin in accessing and dealing with a deceased’s social media accounts after their death. The bill will give complete control, including the power to cancel or continue the account. As I have mentioned before, these types of laws are sprouting up all over the U.S. and hopefully will start making an appearance soon in Canada.
