The Globe and Mail posted an article today on a company in Colorado called the Crestone End of Life Project that has a focus on green burials and alternative funeral arrangements. They offer the option of a funeral pyre, an at-home funeral, or burial services that use environmentally-friendly practices (such as alternatives to embalming and biodegradable coffins). With the increasing number of services appearing almost daily to allow us to live our lives in a more sustainable way, it is unsurprising that businesses are offering services to allow us to also die in a more sustainable way. Expect to see these types of companies opening up all over North America in the near future.
