A Facebook legacy

Facebook

FacebookHere’s some more Facebook news: as of February 12, 2015, you can name a legacy contact in Facebook. The feature is currently only available in the US, but will likely be rolled out to other countries over the coming months. Basically, you will be able to name a trusted contact who can take over and memorialize your Facebook profile after you die.

Previously, you could memorialize a Facebook profile, but it was static to what was there at the time of death. With a legacy contact, they can do some basic page management as well as potentially downloading the pictures, etc. that you have posted to Facebook.

Death, as I have said before, is one of the very few certainties in this life. Even to those with Facebook profiles.
